Windows Installations

There are two types of windows installation.

1. Full-frame window installation (also called stud-to-stud installation) involves removing the entire existing window, including the frame, down to the rough opening. This method is ideal for situations where:
✅ The existing window frame is damaged, rotting, or inefficient.
✅ You want to change the window size or style for a better fit or new look.
✅ You need better insulation and energy efficiency, as the new frame will have fresh seals and insulation around it.

2. Retrofit window installation, also known as insert window installation, involves installing a new window into the existing window frame without removing the original frame or surrounding materials. This is a less invasive and more cost-effective method compared to full-frame (stud-to-stud) installation.

When to Choose Retrofit Windows?
✅ The existing window frame is in good condition (no rot, damage, or warping).
✅ The goal is to improve energy efficiency without altering the structure.
✅ Preserving the interior/exterior trim and siding is important.
